CPR (church, pray, read) is the way to stay alive!

Hello lovelies! :D

Monday: We did a custard run as we went about our pday labours. Wait! Have I ever explained what custard is!? It's celestial food forsure! It's like the best ice cream that you've ever had but ten times better and creamier. America's dairlyand, gotta love her! We also went to see sister Coats who's homebound and so funny and sassy. Gotta love her! She even let us use her voicebox!

Tuesday: We had a super fun FHE with a part member family named the Millers. We were able to break brother Miller out of his shell a bit. He gets pretty competitive when we play games it's the best! They have the cutest little daughter. She's a redhead! The members of the Muskego Lakes ward are just so wonderful! We were pretty tired after a long lesson and we were headed home for dinner. Sister Rees invited us over for dinner right as we were headed home. We needed the Spirit in their home and them! So grateful for these members! 

Wednesday: We finally had our first district meeting! There's only one new member of the district who I actually came out with. It's been pretty sweet to be withthe same missionaries for awhile! We have a new senior couple in the district, the Johnsons. They have already served in Africa! Sister Johnson made us some delicious cinnamon rolls. We had a lesson with our recent convert Kathryn and her daughter named Kristina who were teaching now. We taught them about the importance of the basics! CPR (church, pray, read) is the way to stay alive! Kathryn is such a missionary! We're teaching her whole household and she's just such an example of faith. She just always presses forward with faith even when she's faced with some hard stuff! We had dinner with the office couple the Jepsons! It was so yummy! I just love them! They have been looking out for me since I was temporarily deported back to Canada haha. 

Thursday: Sister Smith was so sweet and printed out half of the conference talks for us! She's the best! We went to the bottom of our area which is huge haha ro visit brother Motta. He always has a bonfire and grills us food which is super sweet! We also finally got to visit some of our recent converts the Sobczaks this week. Those girls are just so funny! I just love em! We were able to get them a lift to church so they came! We had our correlation meeting and brother Greenfield the ward mission leader always keeps us laughing. We went to mutual at the Jacobs house who are from Ontario and it was super fun! We made enchilladas and tried out different hairstyles on each other.

Friday: We dropped by sister Rathke's house just to get to know her better today. We did service at the Bethesda thrift shop and sorted some clothes. It was fun! We had calls with the Elder Atkinson the district leader and he's so funny! Sister Cook one of the ward missionaries spoils so much! I just adore her! She took us out to Carrabas for Italian food! 

Saturday: We helped out with the ward rummage sale for a bit. They had so much stuff it was great! We taught Kristina and her fiancee and he has actually started to read The Book of Mormon which makes my heart so happy! We had dinner with the Smith family too they're awesome and she served a mission too! We got to meet the newest member of the Loutenstock family who is just so cute! 

Sunday: I got to see Andrea today who is a member that i met when serving in the Milwaukee First ward. She's now attending the West Allis ward which also meets in our building so I will be seeing more of her yay! We had dinner with the awesome Monties! They live right beside all kinds of farms so it's a ton of fun! We went to visit a sister Villeman from the Oak Creek ward and she's so awesome! She just has so much faith and served on temple square. Our ward boundaries got changed which makes me sad. We lost the Monks, the Jacobs, Ellsworth and Smiths. Oak Creek will be so blessed to have them though!

I'm so grateful for the Saviour. He's really just so loving and merciful and patient. I'm also so grateful for The Book of Mormon and how it testifies of Him. I love you all! <3 Sister Mansfield

Week 49 in Field!

This past week has been full of miracles and the Lord's merciful hand has definitely been evident.

We had more member present investigator lessons, referrals, and new investigators this past week than I have had in the past couple months.

Starting out in Korat has been a little tough because there wasn't much to work with, but the Lord has been showering us with blessings and miracles each and every day!

What great motivation to keep moving forward!

Sunday dinner preparation:

The Elders brought us the ingredients...but there were some essentials missing, liking cooking oil and soy sauce to make fried rice.

We had to give up the idea of fried rice, and experimented with less than a quarter spoon of butter, some milk, salt, pepper, meat tenderizer, and a tiny bit of ketchup...

we finished eating it...so it must have been okay :3 

I am a witness that as we put our trust in the Lord, He will take care of us and shower us with blessings.

Our every day will be filled with miracles as we have faith and open our eyes to see what constantly surrounds us. 

The love of our Heavenly Father is real and it will encompass us through the thick and thin. 

When we allow ourselves to be molded by being obedient, Heavenly Father will take us to heights we've never even dreamed of! 

​When we fall, He will pick us up and help us become stronger...He will show us hope and motivate us to keep going by blessing us with happiness and joy! 

Week 48 in Field!

This week started out quite normally in Chiang Mai...

With just a little dark cloud, knowing that Elder Sun would be finishing his mission and going home this week. 

Our district has grown so close and has really become one family these past two transfers, so we were all a little sad that Elder Sun would be going home. 

Our last district meeting of the transfer at the Barlow's included UNO, lots of food, testimonies and some tears..

(Oh and E. Shipp whose back is slowly recovering)

Then, Tuesday night, an unexpected call came. 

We were informed that along with E. Sun going home and S. Phosawan moving (which were well predicted by our district), 

Elder Leininger and I would also be moving....

The shock was too great for anything to feel real.

Packing and getting ready to leave just felt like a dream... 

S. Courchaine was not very happy either.... 

But, E. Shipp was very happy to get a lint roller from me!

What a champ at being grateful for the little things :)

Wednesday went by in a daze...I didn't even get to call all the people I learned to love to say goodbye because I left the phone at home :'(

But, there were some to send us off at the bus station. 

It turned out that all 8 of us had to make our way down to Bangkok for transfers.

At least we had the luxury of being able to road trip one last time all together!

My welcome into KORAT!!! I have been assigned to an area right in between Bangkok and the Isan. 

This epic flood welcomed me into the city! 

My new companion, Sister Panjaree is actually from Chiang Mai!

I met her before she entered the mission, during my first transfer in Chiang Mai and know her parents quite well.

She just finished being a Greenie and is now leading the Korat area :) 

I'm looking forward to getting to know this little funny cutie and serving together to help this area grow!

Trying to watch all the sessions in English was a bit of struggle finding a companion to be with...

I am so grateful to Sister Bla (Fish) and my companion for their sacrifices in watching it with me!

I signed these papers this morning, with Mission Related Goals, and Personal Goals for the last six months of my mission, along with a pledge to SPRINT to the end! 

Quite honestly, my first few days in Korat have been a little tough.

With the surprise of having to transfer, and coming into an area with not very many investigators to work with has been a little disheartening. 

My companion, who just finished being a Greenie seems stressed about having to lead the area, and doesn't seem to have too much idea of how to (I don't blame her one bit! Just coming out of Greeniehood and leading an area is not easy...in fact it's never really easy to lead an area).

I hope that this upcoming week will prove to be better! 

I know that as we work hard with diligence, we will be able to meet those who are prepared and we will see miracles! 

I miss Chiang Mai so very much! 

The members, the investigators, the district, the Barlows....but I know that Korat is where the Lord needs me now!

I pray that I will be able to pull myself out of moping the loss of serving in Chiang Mai and truly SPRINT to the end!
