Week 51 in Field!

Family Home Evening
So much food, so many people, so much warmth, joy and laughter!

Sitting in a line to make room for everyone...hahaha...

Cute little gift from my companion!^^

Switch Off in Chaengwattana, Bangkok with Sister Yang!

As always, I am so grateful for the opportunity to be able to switch off and learn from my STLs!
I am so thankful for the examples of Sister Mon and Sister Yang!
They are filled with so much love for our Heavenly Father, our Savior, Jesus Christ and all those that surround them!

We stopped by the office to get Sister Panjaree a replacement bike and figured we would take Coco home with us to Korat...
Just kidding... I wish!

Teaching Sister Ni with Sister Nang, and MEE Gope!

I met Sister Ni for the first time at church on Sunday.
She has been an investigator for a long time, but due to some family problems, she has not been able to come to church or be baptized.
But, she is making a full comeback!
She feels that the time has finally come for her to be baptized!
She pulled us aside after church and asked us what she needs to do in order to be baptized!
Since then, we have taught her on Saturday and Sunday!
She is such an amazing example of someone who has a true desire to follow Christ and be obedient to her Father in Heaven!
What a miracle she is!

Tributes to the late king of Thailand!

Brother Tong's awesome fashion! ^^

The new trending style!

MEE Gope! She is every Korat Missionary's mom! She feeds us every week, and takes care of us like her own!
Thank you MEE Gope for your never ending service!

This week has flown by!
With us away from our area for a day and a half for switch offs in Bangkok, my companion and I weren't sure how much we would be able to accomplish in Korat...
But, this week has been so full to the brim with miracles!
Saturday was especially one day that we felt the Lord's presence strongly in our work.
Our first appointment started at 8am, and what a miraculous appointment that was!
I don't remember all that was said, but everything seemed to flow with precision in the direction that we needed to go to help Sister Broong, our investigator, convert more fully to the Gospel.
The member that was helping us, Sister Jenny's experience, the verses that our investigator read for us from where she was in the Book of Mormon, and our testimonies stirred the power of the Holy Ghost in that lesson.
My companion and I had been discouraged from the past few lessons with her because she always gave us the same answers that avoided answering our questions directly, and we could feel that there was a part of her heart that was closed off.
But this time, everything was different; her answers, her attentiveness, and her prayer!
Her whole countenance changed throughout this lesson.
It was an ultimate miracle!
To put the cherry on top, Sister Jenny explained how she would open a Massage Spa at the mall the following month and it would be closed on Sundays and offered Sister Broong a job there!
Up until now, Sister Broong has only been able to take work off for half the day on Sundays, just enough to go to church...What a wonderful miracle it is that now she has a way to fully keep the Sabbath Day holy!
I know that Heavenly Father truly does answer prayers!
Just as my companion declared after this lesson, there truly are miracles!
After that, our Saturday continued to be filled with more miracles!
Our lesson with Sister Ni was fabulous! The testimonies of the members that helped us teach, Sister Nang and MEE Gope were great and Sister Ni didn't hesitate to accept a baptismal date!
In fact, she already had one in mind!
And later on in the evening, as we went to go teach another investigator (the son of one a member, Sister Giaw) we were caught by the rain.
We were already late, and our investigator wouldn't pick up the phone....we contemplated for a while about what to do, but since we had already made the appointment, we decided it would be best to go visit him.
So, despite the rain and dark, we trekked out to find our investigator.
When we finally got there, to our dismay, our investigator didn't seem too interested in what we had to say.
However, his uncle who was also there, listened as we testified of the Plan of Salvation!
I know that Heavenly Father wanted us to go visit our investigator that day because he had another one of His beloved children there to listen to our message!
It was an exhausting day, but it was all so very rewarding!
It was a perfect day, not because I was perfect in any way, but because I saw the Lord's Hand in the Work of Salvation!

Week 50 in Field!

My ever dramatic companion, Sister Panjaree!

Bike Squad

Family Home Evening!

Boss (I), Bank (RC), Blaa (Fish - AM)
These three are some of my most favourite people in the world!
They have such a fun outlook on life!
Their friendship is filled with so much laughter and fun, each and everyday!
I am also tremendously grateful for Bank and Blaa's never ending willingness to serve our Heavenly Father!
We can always count on them to lend us a helping hand!^^

District Meeting Snack

One of the greatest things about this group is that...

They all bike around just like the missionaries!
Biking Squad indeed! ^^

Last week, I forgot to mention some important news..
On October 13th, the King of Thailand passed away.
Thailand is now in it's 30days of mourning...

There are signs of mourning all over the country including the wear of black clothing and free services to dye your clothes black...

On the bright side, the Thai people are still finding reasons to find joy, just like my companion!

On Saturday, we went to go visit a less active member with a van full of members, recent converts, another less active member and even an investigator!
It was quite the party during the two hour drive there!
I was impressed at the amount of love all the members seemed to have for just one single lost sheep!
They were all so enthused to go visit him, despite the long drive and expenses!
How full of charity they all are!

Brother Jiw! Our main character!
This boy had some serious surgery in his legs and couldn't even walk a few weeks ago...
But here he is! Fully standing, walking like a normal person and even working in the fields!
What a miracle that is!

We went to go help Sister Jenny clear up her yard...
She wasn't expecting us and was delighted that Heavenly Father had sent help!

...suddenly a light descended...

Another one of the Elders' investigators got baptized this week!! ^^
Sister Mayulee's simple, but wonderful testimony is so very sweet!

The miracle that stands out the most to me this week happened on Friday.
We had a pretty intense schedule laid out with our first appointment starting at 7:30 in the morning...
But right off the bat, and continually throughout the day, all of our appointments and plans seemed to fall through...
With extra time on our hands, we didn't really know what to do, but felt impressed to still go visit an LA who we almost cancelled on because she was busy at the time we made our appointment with her.
And what a miracle that turned out to be!
After we had shared the short message we had prepared for Sister Li, I noticed that she was trying hard to fight back her tears.
It was evident that she was struggling through something hard in her life, and although she didn't tell us what it was, it was clear that she just really needed a friend that day to sit next to her.
As she cried softly, I held her and testified of God's love and plan for her. I prayed with all my heart that she would feel His presence and have the courage and might to go on.
She seemed to feel better after a while and went back to work.
What a gift is is to be able to comfort another!
Just like one of my friends once told me, "We aren't meant to go through this life alone. We are to help each other through it."
